District Technician Position

The following information is provided:

WORKING TASKS

  • Will be lifting heavy items to 75 lbs.
  • Must be familiar with farm equipment, ie. tractors, trucks, etc.
  • Should be familiar with farm practices used with USDA, ie: Windbreaks, crops, etc.
  • Will be supervising up to 6 employees during tree planting season.

SALARY

• The District Technician salary will range from $12.00 per hour ($24,960) to $14.00 ($29,120) annually, DOE.

WORKING HOURS

• Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30PM
• During tree planting season, hours may be extended to finish job.

BENEFITS

Annual Leave

• Leave is accrued through the following schedule:

0-3 Years 4.0 hrs/pay period
3-8 Years 6.0 hrs/pay period
8 or more 8.0 hrs/pay period

• There is a cap of 240 hours
• Accrued annual leave will be paid to eligible employees at time of termination, retirement, or death.

Family Leave (Sick Leave)

The Cass County SCD recognizes the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993. Employees are eligible to take a total of 12 work weeks of unpaid leave and may take accrued sick leave during any 12-month period for one of the following reasons:
• Birth or care of a newborn child of an employee
• Placement with the employee of a son or daughter for adoption or foster care
• To care for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent) with a serious health
problem.
• When employee is unable to work due to a serious health condition • Personal Illness
• Personal Medical Appointments
• Exposure to contagious disease that would endanger the health of co-workers
• Death in the family
• Accident not occurring on the job
• Blood Donation
• Leave is accrued through the following schedule:

0-3 Years - 3.0 hrs/pay period
3-8 Years - 4.0 hrs/pay period
8 or more - 6.0 hrs/pay period

• There is a cap of 120 hours
• Accrued sick leave will not be paid to eligible employees at termination, retirement, or death.

The district does provide Health insurance and Retirement program after probation period.
