2005
" Keep North Dakota Clean" Contest

Cass County's 2005 Winner is Thomas Shulstad, a 2nd grader at Holy Spirit Elementary school in Fargo. Shulstad was one of 28 ND students honored by First Lady Mikey Hoven on April 27th at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn, ND. Ms Angie Olson is his teacher.
The Keep ND Clean Contest is held annually and sponsored by the North Dakota Association of Soil Conservation Districts. Each year school teachers across North Dakota entice their students to put into graphic designs, their ideas of what is needed to Keep North Dakota Clean. Their posters are then sent into the Association for judging. The 1st place winners of each grade level and their parents plus their teacher are awarded a luncheon with North Dakota's First Lady. A picture of all three is taken and sent to the local soil conservation district for dissemination.
